The Masters program is open to all adult swimmers (ages 19 and over) who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming.

Program Descriptions

We offer two programs to meet different schedules and workout needs.

1.    Online Masters Program

Cost: $30 per month, payable to Metroplex Aquatics
Registration fee: $44 for 2011
Description: We will send you personalized workouts based on your specific needs. There is no individual coaching. The workout will include base intervals and set times to help push you to a higher threshold. It will be designed for you personally. We will email you a workout the day/week before and customize it towards the number of workouts you tell us you go to per week, how long you swim, and your level of performance. 
Workout times: On your own at the pool of your choice
Start date: October 1, 2011

2.    Cooper Masters Program 

Cost: $40 per Month for Cooper Members / $60 per month for non-members, payable to the Cooper Clinic
Registration fee: $44 for 2011
Description: This program is designed to help you develop as a masters swimmer and improve your ability to swim competitively. With a coach on deck, you will get feedback on your technique and interact with other swimmers in a group setting.   
Workout times: M/W/F 5:30 – 7:00 AM; T/TH 4:45 – 6:00 PM at the Cooper Clinic
Start date: Currently running

Program Levels

Both programs have the following levels:

  • Beginner – doesn't know the strokes and has a hard time swimming 20 minutes straight
  • Intermediate – knows a few of the strokes, can train free, and can swim around 40 minutes
  • Advanced – knows all the strokes, trains for an hour or more

Things we will need to know to start

1.     How many times a week are you swimming?

2.     What are your other activities (such as training for a triathlon)?

3.     What strokes do you know?

4.     What is your average time for a T-20 time or 8 x 200 on 6:00 freestyle?

5.     What is your average time for a T-20 kick set or 6 x 200 kick on 6:00 freestyle?

6.     What is the length of each Workout that you do?
